We are very fortunate to have several Buddhist groups and communities (sanghas) in the Champaign-Urbana area. Besides the Clear Sky Zen Group, there is the Prairie Sangha Network, which practices Vipassana (Insight/Mindfulness) and Tibetan meditation. The Prairie Zen Center offers Zen practice and study in the lineage established by Charlotte Joko Beck of the Zen Center of San Diego.

Several of our members have also practiced with the International Zen Association (AZI), founded by Master Taisen Deshimaru. Most of the zendos of the AZI are located in Europe, but Dale Hartkemeyer, a former member of the Clear Sky Group, now runs the Mt. Pleasant zendo of the AZI in Michigan.
